HI, i'm new here, and i'm sure this has been covered many times before, but i've read through the banking pages and am still a bit confused.
On 20th November i went overdrawn in my Nationwide current account by £1.29. I knew this would happen because i checked my online account earlier last week, so i deposited some cash to try stop it, but the, deposit was taken out at open of business and the deposit was made around lunchtime, so I was overdrawn for no more than 4 hours.
Nationwide will charge me £20 for this, plus 5p for some other fees. I have only ever been overdrawn once in my life before and that again was for a short period of time, about 24 hours. and i had the same fees.
So if I print out the letters that are reccommended would have any chance (or even be entitled) to get my charges back?
I also had a query about my credit card, I tranferred the complete balance during the first week of November, which brought the balane to £0, but thi month my bill £5.40. Is this interest that was taen for the first few days of the month? and will i get a bill next month if i don't pay it pronto?
Thanks for any help!

As long as the credit goes in the same day as the debit, then you won't be charged.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0

My parents did the same with NW at a cash machine - about £2 o/d on Saturday pm. They credited the account the next working day (Monday) with cash in branch and no charge was added. The customer service guy said as the o/d amount was small and as long as the funds are there by the end of the day, there shouldn't be a charge.0

Do ask them for an O/D facility (you can apply on-line). They should agree a modest amount, a hundred pounds. That way, if you dip into the red you will only fact the interest (pennies) and not the charges.0
