Very quick explanation
Downloaded a free office trial for my sons laptop which he did his gsce work on, he needs it and now the trial has ended (all saved in 2007 office) and cant access it
Ive got hold of a disc from work which says office 2000 proffesional on it, what do i need to do to make sure he can acces his work without me messing it all up.
Late at night i know but he needs this coursework by tomorrow so Ive got to get this sorted tonight and im not at my best techie wise right now as he's only just explained all this and my brains a bit frazzled!
Any help appreciated.

Download and install open office, its open source (free forever)
http://www.openoffice.org/
Now you can open all those files!
Save your files as .doc or .xls files though, you can set this up automatically from inside the program0 -
If you have installed office 2000 then this should help

Openoffice is certainly a cheaper and simpler option than using Office2000.

As long as he downloads he newest version as i am sure he will, OOo will open it just fine, and there is no need to save them as Office 2007 formats0
