Joint account

I am getting married in the Spring (the MSE way, of course!!) and want to set up a joint account so that our wedding guests can give us money towards future house furnishings (we'll be buying in about 6 months), rather than gifts which we can't currently store anywhere. The joint account would then be used to pay bills etc once we're happily wedded.
Are the deals offered by banks also applicable to joint accounts? I currently bank with Halifax, and she with HSBC, so is it better to go with one of those two, or is there just as much hassle as going somewhere else?

Think about opening two single accounts first with A&L to get £150: Bag £100s in free cash from current accounts . When you get your £150 close one of the accounts and convert the second one to a joint account.
PM me if you don't have anybody to recommend you.0 -

Watch out it has taken A&L 3 months to authorise my wifes name change (after wedding) money is being taken out and taken to Nationwide who could manage the same task in 2 days.Mortgage Free Wannabe 2009 Challenge
