MSN Messenger

Hi all

My 13 year old is desperate for me to download and install MSN messenger. So far I have resisted because:-
  1. I used it some years ago and had trouble with viruses - even though I am mega careful
  2. I have been told it slows down the PC - A LOT
Any advice on the pro's and con's of downlaoding and installing would be gratefully received. (I'm running Vista)

Thanks in advance

It won't slow the PC down, but that won't bother you as you'll never drag the little darling off it again. :rotfl:

If you have Vista, than MSN messenger should be there already?
It's called Windows Live Messenger now.

There are a good few virus' going round, just tell your kid that if anyone sends them a file, check what it is, as a the virus' send files round seemingly from your friends, but they don't know they're sending it.

You could always use the online version:

    http://webmessenger.msn.com/

Then you wouldn't have to install anything.
