gas pre payment meters

Hi I currently have my gas and electricity with edf I used to have british gas but couldnt afford the gas bills. when I changed the electricity lasted much longer but the gas pretty much the same. In the winter I am using around £4-£5 a day and only live in a 2 bedroom semi with 4 rads. I thought this was excessive and had phoned BG about it last year and was told that I would be charged to get meter checked so didnt bother. Last night I was looking on a comparison website at edf pre payment prices and decided to check the tariff on my meter. It turns out that edf charges just under 7p for the first 2600 kws and 3 and a half for the rest. The tariffs on my meter were just under 10p and over 7p I have phoned edf who are gong to send me a cheque and a new card to reprograme the meter. However I was using the same amount on BG and dont know how I would go about getting money back off them as I have been left for over 6 months.

Any advice is apreciated I would also urge everyone on prepayment meters to also check that their meter is correct as I imagine this wont be an isolated incident.
