Club saving accounts

I hope someone out there will be able to help. I've just become treasurer of a small hobbist club and need to know if there are any banks (etc) offering decent interest rates for such organisations.

The previous treasurer set up accounts with the alliance and leicester commercial bank which until recently gave an acceptable (but not good) interest on everthing over £1. However they have recently changed to a tiered interest structure (£1-500 is rubbish; £500 to £1500 is bad, £1500 to £5000 is poor and only over £5000 is acceptable). Now as we typically have less than £1000 in our accounts, I need to look for a new home for the money but the comparison sites that I know about are of no use - so does anyone know of where I find out info, or even better a reccommendation of someone giving decent interest.
