Hello, i usually reside mainly in the freebie forum so i hope im posting in the right place. Im TobyBowes and i was wondering if i could get a little bit of help/advice about websites.
Ive had several websites in the past but nothing big just personal websites (very basic). I am about to attempt to launch quite a big business on the internet and was wondering if people could give me some advice on how to choose the best domain provider.
> I will be needing a .com and a .co.uk
> It needs to be quite cheap but i understand cheapest isnt always the best
> I will need hosting (but i know nothing about this apart from previous websites ive ran from the free web space my ISP has given me)
Also a side line question...what would be the best way of getting to page one on google etc quickly?? Ive heard of google hijack but you have to pay??
Thanks in advance hope this is all above board (people then to slap the wrists of poter in the freebie forum when we get something wrong lol)
Look forward to helpful replys

You'd probably start with looking at companies that will do the domain and the hosting as a package.
Have you given any thought as to what you are going to use for your shop, when you say a big business I'm assuming that you will be hoping to make revenue from it.
Page one of google? Pay through the nose is the qucikestIt's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0 -
1&1 are quite good with hosting and domains. Go via Quidco to get your cashback, of course.
You get to page one on google by fitting into the algorythm criteria, ie, your page needs relevant content and the more highly ranked pages that link to you, the higher you get.
basically, if you are going for a mobile phone shop then Good luck getting to the front page
If you are going to start a Yellow Muffins on Kittens shop then you will probably get there easily.0 -
Dreamhost are the best in my opinion, but not very cheap compared to others.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0

Who's doing the website? Leave it to them to sort where it's hosted. They'll know exactly what you need and where to get it (database hosting, fast smtp, comprehensive web stats, SSL etc.)0
