savings advice

Options
My son is 22 and being made redundant next September. He wants to go travelling for a year or two. He realises he needs to get some money behind him and is going to start saving.

He wants to save £100 per month direct from his wages and then anything he makes doing overtime or by taking on a second job. He wants something where he can't have instant access, say 30 days notice and he hasn't got access to the internet.

Has anybody got any suggestions on where he will get the best account?

Thank you

There is a thread on this if you do a search or even quicker if you go to their website-7.49%.
And if he opens a certain current a/c( over 21) withAlliance and leicester they are offerring 12.0% regular saver monthly to new customers only though, however he needs to fund it with £500 a month, so too many conditions, probably not suitable.

Oeillade, If your son has £1000 to start with the Abbey Instant Variable Saver might be worth a look, paying 6% at the moment but the rate is going down on December1st.
