Parking at Bristol airport?

Went to Bristol airport yesterday & parked in the short term, met up & went to the pay machine & it came up at £2.50, not bad for an airport I thought. I followed this immediately with my credit card, which I use regularly at Birmingham airport & city car parks, it suits me as more convenient than trying to shove coins in!
I was somewhat surprised to see flashed up, "thank you, your card has been debited £4.40"
A look amongst the plethora of signs & if you look carefully, it tells you that a £1.90 charge is imposed for card use.
I write this as info to anyone going to this (or any other) car park with auto machines, I have not come across it before, but I assume that, as it is such a good earner, many will follow suit.
A handful of coins in the car from now on:T
