Hi, I'm not sure if anyone can help me, I have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro Laptop and it will not boot up, it comes up with a message saying Windows could not start because the following file is corrupt or missing \windows\system32\config\system. I have been looking on the internet and they all say to install windows XP cd rom and repair, but the laptop is quite old and the original desk i think was windows 97 or 98 and i dont have it anymore so how do i do it? Help

You will need a Windows XP disc to boot from, and repair the installation by choosing Recovery Console from the blue screen menu it offers you.
In recovery console if it asks you to log into an installation choose the one at C:\windows and press enter when it asks for a password. They type in chkdsk /r which will take an hour to run.0
