This looks good.
Seems I am not going to be able to avoid the 2% handling fee from now on. I have racked up £5K over the last 18 months. And have been transfering for free up till now.
But as £50 is the max cost if its' spread out over 12 months (like this one is) then in effect you could say I am paying £50/year interest on £5K which I guess I can't complain about really.
So I am off to apply.
But before I do, I am going to cancel all my other CC cards that I am not using
egg
nationwide
natwest
debenhams
house of frazer
In the hope that they don't limit me to an amount smaller than what I am looking to transfer
Example. Egg was my first card I applied for. I got 15K. All the others were 5K or so0 -
Anyone know what the time limit is when re-applying for a Halifax Card.
My last Halifax CC was settled and cancelled in July 2005.0 -
Think you should be ok W1zz.
NB - I have just applied it says "Apply now and you will now within 1 minute if you have been approved" :j
I have just fill on the on-line form in, and at the end it says. "Thankyou for your application, you will know within 10 days whether you have been successful"
Ggrrrrrrrrrrrr! Why do they do that!?

Just a quick point to note.
You can't balance transfer to Halifax One from another card within the HBOS group. You might even be denied the card for this reason also.

Just had phone call from Halifax One re:My application I made yesterday. Just wanted to confirm previous addresses even though I've been at current address 3.5 years. I passed that test and call centre guy said my application had been approved and the forms would be sent out to me in the next day or two.
I asked what credit limit I'd been given - Hoping for £8K but expecting £5K (All my other cards are £8K+)
To my surprise they've given me £8K - Which is what I need to shift off my Virgin 0% card which finishes April 1st.
Once I've got that off, I'll give it a month and call Virgin to cancel and try and get a 0% 6 month deal, which will be a SBT into my savings.

I went into a branch yesteday with my passport and drivers licence as id and came out with a £12900 limit and a promise of the card arriving in 2 weeks....all very easy "in branch"...perhaps you get a higher limit if you go into a branch...they credit checked me on line there and then....so stoozing here I come.
Hope you guys don't mind if I need advice as i'm a complete noviceWombling £457.410 -
