Ryanair and wheelchairs...

I've heard so many reports about this airline and it's attitude towards mobility impaired customers, that i'm not sure which to believe; so do any wheelchair users amongst us have any experience of travelling with Ryanair?

Also, does anyone know what the <insert favourite expletive> you do if they do something incredibly dumb, like "lose" it or break a wheel while it's in transit?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I am a wheelchair user and have never had any problems with Ryanair.I always take my own wheelchair. There is a special assistance desk for special needs, if you go to them first they take you to the front of the queue to book in.Although you will be last to get on plane your seats are saved near the front for you.Personally I can manage the aircraft stairs but they have got a lift if you need it.
You must phone as soon as you book the flight as Ryanair will only accept a certain amount of disabled passengers on each flight.There are several options offered and it is on this call you will let them know exactly how much help you need and can ask any questions you need.
I have always found the staff very helpful.

There was a big fuss a couple of years ago because Ryanair were charging for wheelchair hire.
