Asda - Customer Service, whats that?!

Today, my partner and I went to our local (I say local, its over the other side of the county but it's the nearest one to us) Asda to buy a gift card for his stepbrother's birthday. We needed some bits and pieces while we were in there, so we picked them up and went to the till.
We had unloaded the trolley and were waiting to be served when we realised that we had forgotten to pick up the gift card. (Doh) There was only one left at the till we were at and I picked it up. However, the card it came in was covered in dirty fingermarks and was all scratched inside, and the gift card itself was scratched badly as well, so I went to another till and picked up another.
The cashier didnt have a clue about how to load these cards, so five minutes later he asked another cashier, then finally called a supervisor who surmised in 20 seconds the card was faulty. So he picked up the card I had discarded, and when he took the plastic card off to swipe, he left a huge rip in the card. At that stage we were so fed up we just paid, and went off to customer service to complain. After encountering another equally useless member of staff who couldnt understand why we didnt want to give OH's stepbrother this torn and tatty card, she then said that they had no more of those cards - again expecting us just to give in and accept the tatty one. But I said no, get us another, and OH was like just leave it, but I didnt see why we had to when it was their fault?!
Eventually, we got a replacement and just got the hell out of there. And if that wasnt a nightmare, on the way out of the car park our car got shunted up the back!!! Thank god there was no damage (but that's another story
)
It was an utter nightmare today - thats why we now shop at Tesco!!!!!
