F09 Error Indesit WIDL 126-Should I replace?

My 4 Year old machine decided that after a spin it would flash at me!
Originally had a F12 error, so DH opened up the top, unplugged then plugged all the connectors and plugged machine back in socket, now its showing F09 error ( 1+4+doorlock) which, from googling, is an EPROM problem = £££££
However, there was a bit of soot scorching mark on the side of the machine next to the wire from the pressure sensor??? (i'm guessing this from google research) Hangs off the lip of the top right hand side of the machine. I had also smelt a burning linger in the kitchen about 2 weeks ago but thought that was the burnt cinder toffee DH made, although the smell wasn't always there
So, I called up Indes(h)it who wanna charge me £99 labour and part/s but only have 8 hour appointment slots OR the earliest convenient appointment a week on TUESDAY...I have a 16mth DS who insists on getting changed 3x a day through wet nappies and puke. Local washing appliance dudes want to charge me £130.
Now, do I take the chance and pay out for a fix and hope that in 6/12/60 months later the machine is still working; or do I buy a new machine? If I buy a new one then I won't be getting a W/D. I'd be looking to get a condenser dryer and either a zanussi, bosch or LG washer or anything thats affordable (£400ish) and good. I need to make a decision in the next few days as Mummy is getting fed up doing my washing for me.
HELP PLEASE.
Advice on possible DIY solution for machine/LG steam washing machine reviews/merloni engineers/what to do-all appreciated. TIA

Unless it was a cheap DIY repair (doesn't sound like it is) then I would not bother repairing an Indesit machine. They are not good quality, certainly not worth spending over £100 to repair a 4 year old machine. If I buy a new one then I won't be getting a W/D. I'd be looking to get a condenser dryer and either a zanussi, bosch or LG washer or anything thats affordable (£400ish) and good.0
