Family fund :-)

After applying way back in August and having our family assessment a few weeks back I called up on Friday to see of there was any news. There was news and we have been awarded
Money for days out ( the lady that came suggested this)
A trampoline
Washing machine:D

Very very pleased, alas we didn't get the new bed which is a shame as DS really needs one but were given days out instead which the children are delighted with. They cant wait for the vouchers to arrive so I can order them the trampoline. :T
Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!

Excuse my ignorance....but what is a family fund?
If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!

"The Family Fund gives grants to low-income families to meet the additional needs of caring for a severely disabled child."

My friend has just been awarded money to pay for driving lessons for herself and (I think) a new tumble dryer, her son has cerebral palsy.
