Hi Guys
Can't seem to find related threads but just wondering if anybody else has can help or have experienced BT applying restrictions if you are on the LUS.
I am trying to make cheap international calls using 0844/0845/0871 access numbers with companies such as TeleStunt, Just Dial, as advised by :money: himself.
Thanks.:T

My father in law is on the Light User Scheme and he has no problem using the 0844 and 0871 numbers to dial us when we are in Spain. These such calls usually make up the majority of his bill.0

Thanks Go-Braves.
We seem to be able to connect to the access numbers but when we dial the international number (+0091...for india) we get a message 'this access no. does not allow calls to this destination'....
Any views on this?0 -
You may be using the wrong 0844 number for that particular country?0

A typo? You don;t use a 00 when preceding it with + (as both mean the same thing - your country's international access code).
For BTs Low User tariff, BT bar ALL short codes for alternative carriers - but 0800 and other number equivalents work fine.0 -
0800 and other number equivalents work fine.
BT use software to check numbers being dialled by LUT customers. This does include 0800 numbers (if you are using them for accessing eg dial up internet, etc).
When they discover you are dialling anything that breaches their Light User rules, that call is blocked.0
