When I was a kid they had a carnival in Ossy. They called it OSSYGOGAYDAY...

bet they didn't keep it up...

No way, bleedin 'ell .............all the best people come from Bolton, I love Bolton and vowed I'd move back there one day, *sighs nostalgically*,, my Dad lived in Farnworth, no-one has heard of Farnworth but everyone knows Bolton.;):D

I have! I lived in Halliwell. Still have family there...Kenyon...

I actually left at 18 months but went back frequently to visit relations.

Now I just tell folk I come from the same place as a certain P. Kay... and I used to impress people with my 'impression' of Bubble (Jane Horrocks) from Absolutely Fabulous..well all I did was revert to the accent of my youth;)

I went on a food tasting a few weeks back. I had to test 'Uncle Joe's Mint Balls'...Wigan's finest...

and I have brought up two kids who are mad keen on sarsaparilla tablets...:rotfl:

Valli I think my inability to do cryptic clues has a lot to do with my level of commitment! ie: I'm not committed at all!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I like Deltics, me! But there's a certain aroma to a Puffing Billy...

ETA Triker's got me reminiscing...we were neighbours, almost...

You can't come to Hull because it's a secret, lovely place that we tell the world is terrible so people don't come and spoil it's unreconstructed working class ness.;)

I'm a lancashire girl meself but I love it here well, 'cept for the lack of hills........that really confuses me, I'm used to the calm presence of the Pennines surrounding me, but the chippy's are great.:rotfl:, gravy............not as good as lancashire gravy......this is the stuff that empires are built on I tell ya.;):D

the hull gravy is just sludge... thick glooby stuff with no added 'bits'

Blooming foreigners invading my city of culture.. From lancashire of all the dirty places lol...

He saw Father Christmas today at the the Christmas Fair and when asked what he wanted he said a train set. He came out and unwrapped his present to find a Scooby Doo pencil case with bits n bobs to go inside, he was NOT impressed! So much so that he burst into tears saying 'I wanted a train set'. Would not be consoled at all and he and Miss A were first kids in to see FC!

Oh yeah and he knew that it wasn't the real FC and was telling me this as I was bundling him out the door before the other kids could hear :rotfl:
