We recently travelled to South Africa with KLM, to visit friends, the tickets were booked directly from KLM via internet. Good service, good prices.
Our friends in SA are coming to visit next year but have to pay a lot more to fly over to see us, does anyone know if they could book travel in UK but start their journey from SA, and would it be economical for them?

It might be cheaper booking SA-PAR/BRU/AMS/FRA and then getting a no frills flight to the UK.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

you could always try this - but need to have some basic German skills:

you can generally book a ticket from anywhere to anywhere with them and pay for it with a credit card.0 -

They will need to buy tickets for a journey from South Africa. However, they can use websites based anywhere in the world for this. A good place to start is Kayak, which might lead them to agents with low fares.0

Agreed.
BUT sometimes there are flights such as SA-LHR-own transport-LGW-BRU/AMS, which are cheaper than SA-LHR.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Thanks, everybody for your help. I will pass on your comments to our fiends in SA.0
