in Credit cards
I recently opened a credit card account with Virgin with 0% interest and transferred an outstanding balance of £3000 from Lloyds.
I have been away for a week during which time my first statement arrived. The statement is dated 12 November (and arrived while I was away) and the first payment has to be made by 28 november! I have paid via my internet bank account so hopefully it will be paid in time.
Is 16 days between statement date and payment normal with Virgin?

YEP i remember getting 8 working days to pay mine. best bet is to set up Direct Debit for minimum amount and your covered. you can allways make over payment and you won't risk looking your 0% offer, because they take that away if you miss/or are late when paying them and you have to grovel to get it back again.0

Virgin Money is around 19 days from statement production* to payment due.
Virgin Atlantic is around 15 days from statement production to payment due
The quickest way to pay a Virgin credit card in a hurry is by debit card...either online or on the phone (if they allow it?).
The simplest preventive measure you could take is to set up a minimum payment direct debit...you'll never be late again!
* Don't forget to allow for despatch and postage...3 days?0 -

Yes, that seems to be the current time frame with MBNA cards. My Abbey (MBNA) card has the last invoice dated November 17th,
with payment due on December 3rd (exactly 16 days).
At one time it used to be 56 days of interest free credit, it’s now down to 46 days. - Sign of the times, I presume.
Set up a DD for the minimum payment, the you don’t have to look out like a hawk!0 -
Quickest payment methods are to pay online through one of the MBNA sites, pay before 5pm Mon Thurs and it will clear within 48hours or use the automated service. however the automated service can only accept minimum payments.
As a rule we don't take payments over the phone, we are not a bank and don't have the same banking facilities and actually have to outsource that style of payment.
Always set up a DD to cover yourself, and get us to se the DD up for you that way if there is an error its our fault and not yours0 -
If you pay today via www.bankcardservices.co.uk it will make the payment show tomorrow0
