Help needed for newbie with Itunes and Ipod shuffle, please

Hi, I have a problem trying to import my Audible books onto my shuffle. I have stored my books on Itunes and they are in my 'Audible' folder. I have my shuffle showing in my 'Devices' and I thought it was just a case of dragging the books from my audible folder into my device.
It must be my age but I'm stuck and nothing I try will work. Would some kind person please advise me how to drag books onto my shuffle? Is Itunes a 'drag and drop' type of storage system?

Could the problem be that I have downloaded my books onto my grandsons Itunes ?

Any advice welcomed.:confused:
