Urgently Need Help.
Hi guys I was wrongly sold my contract by southern electric when I switched over to them. They have told me that I will get a 10% discount off my debt for this but I have nothing but trouble from them.
At the moment I am without Gas as there card has failed and I have been told that the emergency team can not do anything. I am in tears a chair even went flying across my kitchen. I have a littled girl the house she is only 5 and still they wnt do owt I have to ring SE in the morning.
I have had a look at my contract book and I am sure it is out of date. The prices stated on the back state Aug 2006 to Mar 2007 and on the inside of the contract it says SE D OUT SEP 07 does this mean I have also been given out of date information.
I have been with them for about 3 months is there any way I can get back to British Gas. I dnt know how much I can take any more, but I have to keep fighting for my little girl I feel so lost dnt know what to do. Any one know where I stand on this one please help i you can.

So long as you're not in debt, switching back is easy. Even if you are in debt with Southern Elec, you may still be able to switch.
Depending on terms, you may be charged a cancellation fee. You may not be charged anything at all. The switch back will take several weeks.
You need to check your terms and conditions but, meanwhile, it might be worth you looking at the comparison sites to see if you could get a better deal somewhere else.0 -
I am assuming that the message that you are receiving on your gas meter says card fail, or battery fail. This means that there is a problem with your gas meter. The problem being is that your supplier do not own the gas meters & cannot come out to you as an emergency.
Were you given national grids contact number who handle gas when your supplier is shut? & if you were given national grids number did you choose the option that says that your supplier was shut.0 -
It was national grid I spoke to, she knew that my supplier was shut. She said cause it said Card Fail its the card at fault and there was nothing they can do. The women was quite stuck up her own bottem and seemed very uncaring. Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.0

I am afraid national grid are not the nicest people at the best of times.
Do you live in the southern region of England, as Southern Electric emergency rapid response officers do carry gas cards & can drop you one off?0 -
You need to ring them back and insist that someone gets you an emergency call out - it can take 3-4 hours to get someone out to you, but as someone with a small child in the household you are classed as a vulnerable group.
As such under their own code of guidance they are not allowed to disconect you in the winter and the welfare of the child is paramount. They will probably ask you for the serial number of your meter and ALL of the readings so be prepared and have those to hand. Regardless of whether SE is shut or not they DO have a 24/7 emergency response team who will be able to come and sort you out.
