And remember that Carphone Warehouse don't lock their phones so can be used on any network once you've used your £10 call time.....
Carphone don't lock the phones the networks do, it's done before they get to the store (or depot for web purposes)
Traditionally Voda and o2 DO NOT lock contract phones. Orange, TM and 3 do. PAYT have always been locked to the provider, as are most smart phones.
Coming back to this it depends why this is on offer, if they are getting rid of generic instore stock (which is normally used for contract phones so they keep a generic model in stock rather than having to keep each networks variant of the phone in stock) it's unlikely to be locked, if it's been supplied to them from the network (and you'll get it in the appropriate companies branded box) then they will be locked.
It's a bit of a gamble buying online, but if you go instore you can ask for generic stock and may get it as such.0 -

Just picked one of these up at my local Asda £7.83 due to VAT reduction. No need to top up.
Great find.:ABargains - Bloomin' Marvellous0 -
Just bought one from Carphone Warehouse for £4.82 with £10 talktalk PAYG top up. For this price, don't really care if talktalk have locked it, but how do I find out if they have?0
