are you sure? as when i bought a phone sometime ago from then it was locked to network.

Unless it's been changed recently they don't lock any phones. I've bought a few, always going for the cheapest network option because of this...
What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about !!!

Ordered one yesterday via quidco, £5 tracked already. Previous phones bought from Carphone Warehouse have all been unlocked. The sim comes loaded with £10.

It was mentioned in Martins Money Saving E-Mail.
Already a thread here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1289293 which someone mentions the possiblity of a £10 trade in being available.
  • I was going to get one of the Carphone Warehouse Samsung's for my wife to replace her broken PAYG Nokia 1100. I contacted T-Mobile and they offered a Sony Ericsson J132 for £9.99 (and no requirement to buy airtime). It's a much better phone than the Samsung B130. For example:

    Sony E J132: 9 hours talktime, 450 hours standby
Samsung B130: 6 hours talktime, 250 hours standby

The Sony also has more functions eg FM radio, built in speakers, headphone jack, Java.

EDIT: This offer was not available online - ring free on 0800 956 2208 (or 150 if you already have a T-mobile phone). Free next day delivery too.

you have to buy airtime to get at this price,so no good for me .

If you are on Orange or T- Mobile - ring them up and ask them if you have credit on another sim card, can you transfer it to another. I did this a while ago for a fiver phone with Virgin, worked a treat.

I just bought the phone and airtime, registered it in my name, called up again and said I wanted to transfer it to another sim and they were fine with this.... Just a thought HTH

I have transferred accounts previously with virgin but have been told by orange that they do not do that - but you never know. Worth a try.

Orange definitely do transfer PAYG accounts.

Was this the one advertised in The Sun or Mirror this saturday? I was told about this but haven't been able to find more info. Nothing in my ASDA either (so maybe it's sold out there)
