Leappad Writing Plus - has anyone else got a duff one (or two)

Options
We got my daughter a Leappad Writing plus for Xmas. it is not working properly so went off and exchanged it and the 2nd one is not working either. You press on the pad and it does not register, the green go circle is about 3 inches up from the actual circle, the owrds come out a couple of lines up as well - how is a 3 year old supposed to learn from that. has anyone else had trouble with these?? Now lef with a useless present and the useless books that came with it as no receipts as bought about 3 months ago anyone know what I should do??

  • Hi Blue Monkey, if you brought it on a credit/debit card, you can show the shop the bank/credit card statement (any proof of purchase should do), especially if faulty. You should then be able to get your money back or exchange for another item. If brought with cash, they still might be able to exchange for something completely different or money back, espcially if you keep getting faulty machines. How frustrating...good luck.

Thanks, we got it from Bargain Crazy. Not sure if I kept the packing note. I bought another from Boots and was going to take the faulty one back to Boots in the packaging but now I have 2 with problems, so the one has to go back to boots anyway. The one from Bargain Crazy I guess I can try and call them about. Just stupid for assuming it would work really as all the other stuff we have had from Leappad have been excellent. Extremely disappointed with this one though becuase it is useless, I thought it would have been better as from their high range of products. :(

Maybe I will call LeapPad and ask them if they will swap it for a Leapster handheld thingy as we have been hunting around for one of those. No harm in trying I guess. Thanks.
