There is a new Marriott in west india quay which looks nice.

The rate is not too bad it really depends what your friend was looking to spend (I believe that is per room per night, NOT per person but please make sure).
IMO I would go for the second one down that includes breakfast. I have not actually stayed in a Marriot in the UK but the one I have stayed at many times in Warsaw the breakfasts are amazing, it is just help yourself of what ever you want and they have nearly everything!!
The hotel is only 20 mins out of central london and apparently the views are amazing in the evening.JeremyMarried 9th May 20090 -

Has anyone tried the 'un-named' hotels on lastminute.com? I'm always slightly nervous when I don't know what I'm getting for my money! (i'm looking for something that same weekend in london - spooky!):happyhear0 -
Try the Regent Palace Hotel on Piccadilly Circus. Rooms start from £35 and go up to £100 depending on the facilities you want and how many people it is.

Thats my problem too...has anyone booked any of the top-secret hotels from lastminute?0 -
Well I took the plunge and booked it - went for a secret 4* hotel that was £75 for a king deluxe room - after paying I found out it was a hilton and the standard rate for the room is just over £150! So it looks like I did well on the paying front - apparently I just take a copy of the email from lastminute with me when I check in... hopefully that will all run smoothly.:happyhear0

Good Houskeeping have got £150 or more off luxury hotels 1st Jan - 31 March. The hotels are Qout Hotels and the one in Winchester, Ihr from London looks lovely. I could get any prices on line but you may have more luck. Web site www.qhotels.co.uk code GKeep or call 0845 0740050 and quote Good Housekeeping. Hope it helpsLook after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0

We stayed at the Basingstoke Country Hotel in October which has a lovely pool, gym and restaurant. We booked it through superbreak.com and I think they are offering 20% off on their website at the mo.0
