Sky Plus: Copy Protected When Recording To DVD Recorder?

I have posted about this before but hopefully [finally...!] we appear to have a solution. [I hope...]
We've been having the same problem for 7 weeks, going round in total circles with a Panasonic recorder/amstrad box.
We've had signals, sky plus box swapped, dvd recorder swapped (from an acoustic solutions one - sky said it was the recorder at fault so we took it back to argos - turns out there's nothing up woth the recorder!) and noone has known what to say other than 'it's being looked into' and it ranges from 'never heard of it...!' to 'everyone who tries to record off with a DVD recorder has it'.
Yesterday the sky plus box was swapped as the engineer said it would fix it! Did it chuff! Lost 6 weeks of things we wanted to save and nothing.
Today I've rang through again and have spoken to 'Lynn' who is lovely. She pulled out all the stops through a half hour phone call and spoke to someone who says to mend it they should:
Ask you to put it onto a non sub channel (bbc 1 etc)
Send signals ( I believe it's the sky plus settings?)
Match the card to the box
Send personal info again.
Then ask you to record something new and when it's done try and tape it off from sky to the dvd recorder which is what we're doing now andf ingers crossed we're almost 40 mins in and (touch wood) going strong.
So if anyone else is having these issues it may be something to ask Sky about

There is a known issue with this problem at Sky and they are currently gathering information from customers who contact support with this problem so that they can fix it asap.0

UPDATE: this problem has been fixed and all programs recorded after 25/11/08 should archive to DVD without problem. Recordings before this date may not tho...0
