£500 - where to start

Hi, I currently have £500 to put away, preferably in an ISA. I don't really need instant access, but I would like to be able to add to this amount through the year. Is this possible ? Also, can you advise the best possible deal at the moment ? I've tried looking myself, but I'm new to this and find it a bit complicated at the moment.
Thanks
Steve

For examples, see the following comparison sites:

According to the money saving expert comparison link, the minimum deposit was £10.00. When I go on to the Scottish Widows website, it says it is £1000.00. I'm a bit confused0
