buyer changed their mind?

I posted on here the other day about how to go about getting payment from someone in Euros. After trailing along to the Post Office (lter found out i could've checked online!) to check the postage costs and sending a new invoice, i got a message from the buyer saying had i not received her email saying that she had made a mistake with the size and no longer wanted the item! Now, i went ahead and sold the item via second chance offer, received payment straight away, posted and have positive feedback...But i went ahead with the process to cancel the sale as it is still showing that the initial sale has gone ahead. The first buyer has not responded to this even though i have sent an email asking them to respond as it it still showing on my sales page. What do i do now? do i leave it a few days and do an Unpaid Item or can this not be done while there is the sale cancellation outstanding? I'm going on holiday soon and wanted it sorted before i go away. To be honest i do think it is a genuine mistake by the original buyer as they only have a feedback rating of 3 so seem to be new and may not be checking ebay regularly but it is a right pain for me.

I would appreciate any advice on what i need to do from here.

Thanks (sorry for all of the waffle!)
Debts all paid!!!:j

Why phone them, the process is clear. If you have opened a mutual cancellation and asusming the buyer fails to repond you will be able to close it eventually and recover your fees. The problem is though where the buyer responds and ticks the wrong option, then you are stuck as you cannot open a full dispute.

Mutuals are not a good idea as a buyer too stupid to know how ebay works is unlikely to be intelligent enough to respond correctly to a mutual.
