Wrap or no wrap?

  • I have four kids and buy for another 20 or so people, and it all gets wrapped! The only exception is for things like bikes, where the visual is just as great unwrapped, lol.

I hate wrapping. It kills my already-dodgy back. Last year I went out to my Mum's with my friend Julie and we had a mammoth wrapping session (with nibbles and booze) for all my gifts ... that was fun so I shall convince Mother (who loves wrapping!) to make it annual, lol.

We do 'traditional' (to me, anyhow) stockings. I use old socks, lol, they get hung on/by their beds and filled with a satsuma, an apple, some chocolate coins, a £1 coin and some small 50p-£1 fillers. None of this is wrapped, it's just stuffed into the socks.

I wrap everything - no matter how small.

I don't care what I get for Christmas as long as there are lots of things to unwrap!

Everyone takes it turn to unwrap a present - that way they last even longer! :j

i wrap everything - its a chore but adds to the magic - i remember as a child wanting a bike and feeling sure i would get one as my parents had taken me to a shop a few months earlier and sat me on a few for so you imagine my disapointment when my pressie from my parents was only a small box - when i opened it it was a bike bell - my shiny new bike was produced from the shed - too difficult to wrap.

You have to wrap everything!! I like to disguise things you will only get a CD shapped parcel if it has no CD in it!!! My parents would take presents apart so I remember a socket set every socket, and attatchmnet was wraped separatly! Finnaly I found the case to put it all in!

I do this now but you have to careful, its best the wife does not open the tin of fish food before she opens the big box with the fish tank, in it!! It was quite sad how the fish had died I think I used too much selotape, may be they did not get enough air.

Anything from Santa does not have selotape on it he does not use it you know.

    :rotfl: thats just mental!
  • i wrap everything, i even stupidly wrapped my sons bike last year after we put it together, it took my son about 20 mins to get all the paper off the pedals ect...
this year i am attempting to wrap a 4.7m multi ladder for husband!
    i think i am mad

I wrap everything except the tiny bits in the stocking.

If its an odd shape it goes in a gift bag, if its a bike it has a gigantic bike bag from asda if its square or retangular it gets wrapped with a bow. I like bows, everthing has a bow!!

The stocking fillers are usually choccies, top trumps, toothbrush, pencil crayons etc.. so dont wrap them.
  • I wrap everything! I think i get it from my mum, everything has to look amazing with curly ribbon etc!

I make my mum a stocking and wrap every last thing in it so it seems like she has more to open. and i think it shows a bit more effort.

All presents get wrapped, except fruit in stocking. Stocking presents are wrapped in tissue paper. We reuse as much of the wrappings as we can.
