The dongle through 3 will be the problem in terms of buffering.

I have one and - despite it claiming a 3.6Mbps connection has never reached speeds over around 1.5Mbps and is frequently lower. On, for example, Youtube I will have to pause a video and allow it to buffer before I can play it reliably on a PC that is top spec.
  • o so theres nothing i can do have tried to pause leave it few minutes and still does not work.....mmmm wish i knew this b4 signing up with them!!

Have you thought about downloading the youtube video onto your hard drive, then watching it through once it's fully downloaded?

Well this question has been asked before on the forum, but here is one method that works OK.

Go to the youtube page that you want to view, such as this one:-
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nI2y4s3vzgk&feature=rec-HM-r2
Then COPY the url link from the address box at the top of Internet Explorer.
Then go to the KeepVid website here:-
    http://keepvid.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DnI2y4s3vzgk%26feature%3Drec-HM-r2
and PASTE in the link that you copied.
Then click at the bottom of the page where it says "Download (video.mp4 - High Quality)".
It will save the file on your hard drive.
The file will be called "video.mp4".
You can watch the video with a media player.
Rename the file if you want to, or delete it when you've finished.

....or just get a decent broadband connection, Virgin Media has a basic package 3 for £30 which you get a fast BB connection, Lan-Line telephone and Digital TV, problem solved.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
  • thanks for advice least i'll know for when i have to renew to go with someone decent many thanks guys

  • In terms of mobile broadband dongles they're all about the same in terms of speed barring central London, where Vodafone seem to have a distinct advantage. As network capacity increases speeds will improve, plus 3 are rolling out their 'Turbo' network that is a hell of a lot quicker.
