Hi
Apologies in advance if any of these are stupid questions.
We have a TV in our lounge with Sky on it plus DVD player etc. We also have a couple of other portables in the house.
I would like (ideally) to be able to access Sky channels upstairs in our bedroom but I've not got multiroom. I've heard that there is a device you can buy that will boost the signal so that you can receive Sky on other channels ?? Is that true ? I'm presuming that you can still only access one channel at a time but could you then play a DVD on the TV downstairs ?
Also We're considering a Recordable Hard Disc / DVD arrangement. Any advice ?
I wonder wether easier to the multroom / skyplus option but don't really want to be tied in to paying Sky more money.
The reason for all of this is to be able to allow my son to watch TV upstairs whilst also allowing my daughter to watch something different downstairs near me.
Any thoughts or advice greatly appreciated

A simple wireless video sender (£20 quid ish) will broadcast the signal from any Scart device to a TV with the video sender receiver attached. Most have infra red (IR) 'Blasters' that allow the remote viewer to change channels.0

The simplest solution is to use a magic eye device. A cable runs from the RF2 output of your Sky box to the aerial input of your remote TV. A simple magic eye at the remote end allows you to control the Sky box.
These are typical, you can pick them up in Tesco or a decent DIY store.

Try one of these, http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thomson-VS680U-Wireless-Sender-Control/dp/B0019M6GZ6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1227439240&sr=8-4
You can only watch one channel at a time with these devices though. If you want to watch 2 different channels on Sky I am afraid it would need to be Sky multiroom.
