Has anyone got any advice on how to insulate under the floor where we don't have crawl space?
Ideally we don't want to lift all the floorboards, but we do have draughts coming up between them.
Would we just be better trying to seal between the boards better, or is it worth lifting them (some?) and insulating too? Most of our ground floor is carpeted with thick underlay so we're only thinking to do the hall which has a bare wood floor.
    Thanks

Yes Jen, I did it a few years ago. Took out just a few floorboards, put in battens, then 50mm Kingspan.
BUT not in all cases a good fit so added Rockwool. Left a gap between insulation and floorboards.
Then cleaned out and sealed up. Plus good underlay and carpet. Good result but the whole job very fiddly
BUT a cheaper way( and maybe better) would be plastic netting nailed underneath and all rockwool. The nails would need to last a while, so either galvanized or stainless and thought given to placement and angle. The netting could be the cheaper sort sold to support runner beans.
