I'm just getting used to Avira after recent installation.
The scan today has thrown up '6 warnings', although zero detections etc.
I've cut and pasted them below and would be grateful if anyone could tell me whether I need to be concerned:
Starting master boot sector scan:
Master boot sector HD0
[INFO] No virus was found!
Master boot sector HD1
[INFO] No virus was found!
[WARNING] System error [21]: The device is not ready.
[INFO] Please restart the search with Administrator rights
Master boot sector HD2

I'll guess you have one hard drive split into two halves (C and D), and also a card reader installed on the system.
It is effectively seeing five hard drives - the actual one and four card slots. The first four warnings are because the card slots are empty and have nothing for it to read.
The final two warnings are for the paging file and hibernation file. These are used by the system as temporary storage and are protected from external access by the system. It is expected that the program would not be able to access them.
There is nothing to worry about in any of these warnings.0 -
Yes, thanks. I've since googled the results and found comments similar to your own. Am more than somewhat relieved!0
