Anti Fat Cat Bank CEOs? Let's go! & teach them a lesson!

Options
I'm incensed by failing fat cats rewarding themselves for their own incompetence.

They get massive bonuses either way, win or lose....they always win, while others lose their homes and jobs as a result. They should be locked up.

NOBODY does anthing about it. So it must be up to us. If we carry on banking with these back-scratchers we are condoning their immoral behaviour.

Can anyone tell me of the least gready bank (if there is no such thing as a totally fair one  ) internet or not, British or not, and I will move my current account there.

I hope everyone follows and the fat cats can get skinny ha ha!

I have been with Barclays for 19 years and I don't think I can justify it any more.

  • The Co-Op.
  • Actually, the co-op was the first one that sprang to my mind too. I will look into their CEOs salary & compare it with other banks before I leap, but I have heard good things. Thank you!

It is up to each and every one of us to make a stand, how else will things ever get changed.

I have been guilty of complacency/lethargy re changing my bank for 19 years! It's time for us every day people to make an effort and show that we won't buy it any longer!
  • Have just switched to the Co-Op - so that's good! Mind you, I did it for the £100 cashback. But I liked the staff when I went into the branch, so have a good vibe.

Would love to hear about the CEO's salary though!

    Excellent post!

Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)
  • On reading that first post I can't help think of proffessional footballers.

I don't imagine many people would stop supporting their favourite premier league football team on that premise and start watching their local small teams instead.
Trying to only spend money when I absolutely have to.
Barclaycard: £4559-1500 = £3059 (Will have £900 to add to that end of September)
    Loan from Friend = £2000

I've never felt incensed about the bonus schemes of banks.
lose their homes and jobs as a result.
How have banks caused someone to lose their home?

I agree on the credit unions as they are controlled by the members.

Actually, we're not giving out cash bonuses for 2008 (Barclays). Incentives continue as normal (for those working in branches and so forth).

There is a natural cycle of boom and bust when it comes to the economy. It is as unavoidable as it is unfortunate, but what are these job losses you're referring to?

I'd also like you to elaborate - what exactly is this "immoral" behaviour?

My bonus last quarter was 150 quid. I don't know if that counts as so large that it's obscene, or so small that you take pity on me!

Halifax Bank of Scotland, I would say this is the best out of all of the banks that I have banked with....and I have banked with most of them, the Co-op is going be different isn't it? How they spoute all this "ethic" stuff and how they are special, I can assure you working in management at the Co-op they are far from "ethical" or pleasant for that matter.
Lloyds TSB are ok but if you want to keep away from "asian" call centres, which I hate with a passion, you should try Halifax bank of Scotland, Allied Irish, Yorkshire/Clydesdale Bank, Alliance and Leicester....these would be my last choice as I have had bad dealings with them.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
