can someone with a bit of knowledge and experience (i do not have any!) please tell how much it would cost (approx) to carryout the following jobs in order to finish off a 12 x 12 ft room with 9ft ceilings?.
reskim all walls
plasterboard and skim ceiling
build a cupboard around a boiler
hang 2 doors and fit locks
fit skiring boards
and finally - decorate the entire room.
i live just south of sheffield and have a bloke (friend of a friend) who says he can do all that. he says he is getting back to me soon with a price, how much roughly should i be looking at? labour only - i have to provide materials
if anybody has had any of the above done recently or your a pro then your advice is much apprieated.
many many thanks

reskim walls one days labour approx £100 -120 materials negligable
ceiling would or should not take more than I day materials £60 approx plus labour £100
a good joiner would only take 1 day to do the the cubbord and skirting boards so another £150 should take care of that including materials
I would suspect that you would paint the room yourself so only the cost of paint to add

IMHO I would get another couple of quotes and take it from there.
I have a humble handful of tradesman that I use for everything and recommend them whenever I can but unfortunately know where near where you are. But you can always ask neighbours etc if you see tradesmen at their houses. No Signature Required ......0
