Payplan - "Computer says Noooo" :-(

Been with Payplan for 6 months now - so far so good, until this month. Even though my payment to them left my account on 3rd November, my creditors haven't been receiving the payments until the 18th or later.

I phoned Payplan - they said that because they didn't receive my payment 'til the 7th (their distribution day) even though this was through no fault of my own, their computer system pended my distribution forward FOR ANOTHER SEVEN DAYS before it was sent to creditors.

When I suggested to Payplan this wasn't good enough, they were completely unrepentant and just said "that's the way our system works and we can't override it". Sounds to me like a case of "Computer says noooooo", and the sort of thing one of my more !!!!!! creditors, let's see hmmm HSBC, would say.

I had a letter from HFC this moring dated 21st Nov, saying they still hadn't had my payment. That's disgraceful. Defaulting on a DMP is the sort of thing that will land me in the County Court. Seriously considering leaving Payplan and arranging my own DMP from now on.

Rant over.

    Hi MLF,

Just seen your thread, and its exactly the same as ourselves.......as you say not good enough. We have always been more than happy with Payplan, although we have had 3 Case Officers, and do not seem to have any continuity. This is the first time I am beginning to have doubts about them.

I wonder what would be involved by changing to another DMP company.

Thanks for your comments on my earlier thread, at least I know its just not happening to us.

  • There must be a lot of people on this thread using Payplan, who pay them on the 1st of the month. Has anyone else had this problem?
