CitiBank should I take my money out

Options
I have a current account with Citibank have a few thousand there should I remove the funds as the bank is looking doomed?

With there falling share price anyone else removing there money? as it's not a good sign when a bank is thinking of being bought out or part sold.

  • Citibank is the biggest bank in the world. Not that it means much, but where else would you put your money. Fully covered under FSA £50k protection.
Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

  • I have a hsbc current account the money would be moved there I just wanted to see what others were thinking with citi accounts
  • Citibank are absolutely huge, the biggest bank in the US. They're not going anywhere.

However, keeping thousands of pounds in a current account earning no interest is a little bit silly. I'd move it elsewhere, into a savings account of some kind, based on that alone.
  • i need help about hsbc ,has anyone had problems with them with helding your money ? everyday they come up with excuses we contacted the fraud from hsbc and they are not much use the police too and my solicitor say you know what they are like it takes weeks ,im not talking about a few thousand pounds either , we contacted the f.o.s on friday and see where it goes from there ..............

I guess an official announcement will be made before Monday's open. I have got some money with Citi and I am below the 50K limit so I am quite happy.
