Refunds on Credit cards

In September my holiday had to be cancelled due to Hurricane Ivan. I had paid for my hotel using an Egg credit card. They took the payment plus the extra for foreign exchange. When the hotel refunded the money it was in dollars and Egg took 5% in exchanging the currency >:( I rang Egg who said nothing could be done as it was VISAs policy. Egg took £60 from the transaction so I cancelled my credit card with them and wrote a very cross letter!
Good news this month as Egg has refunded the money to my account ;D
So it pays to complain! Still not going to use Egg again as their customer service sucked!

That may be their loss or it may be your loss or perhaps a bit of both.

Sorry to hear about ur bad experience.

However on the whole, so far I have found Egg to be a very efficient bank/company to deal with.

Their website is great and their credit card is a God send!

It is always worth complaining, if you don't then the companies won't know what the problems are. I did have an egg card and found them very very good compared to others, the only reason I don't use them anymore is that I became a bit of a 0% junkie. If that gravy train ends I'll probably go back to egg...
