Hi , I now have a copy of the Occy Health Docs letter which pretty much says I am permanently unfit to do the job I am doing and if they cannot redeploy me under the criteria he has set ( ie: short journeys less than 2hrs. no lifting, no pushing/pulling) they are to refer me back to him .
But damn me if I didn't get a 'general' email from the Acting Manager to say he had quit the post and gone back to IT management , so the only person that really knows me and my circumstances has gone leaving me to have to deal with an HR manager whom I have never met .. I am now waiting to hear from him and what he proposes to do now.. If I don't hear anything in a couple of days I will ring him... Still have not managed to get hold of the rep it seems she is on leave I suppose I can go over her if needs be....#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Can you present a viable case to sustain you argument that there is plenty of work to enable your continued employment giving credence to your requirements? Use your time wisely to build a case that will assist you and your rep to put to management - management should be seen to be doing all they can to assist you. Also request that your occ health Dr, gives advice to your manager that can help your case, i'm thinking specifically of him reminding your employer that they may have a duty under the Disability Discrimination Act, and to be mindful of this when dealing with you.
Try and make contact with your Unison branch office and get them on board sooner rather than later. One of my pet hates is getting a case at very short notice and not having enough time to gather all the evidence available.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0
