I am am going to Furteventura next month, my friends are staying in another part of the island if we use our mobile phones will we be charged local rates? I have an international sim card would it be cheaper to use that while I am there?
As you can see I do not know that much about mobile phones.
Any help/advice would be great.

yes if you use a local sim you will pay local rates.
if you leave in your UK sim then you will pay international rates (for both call and texts), even though the call is within the island0
