My card is not working properly !! (barcalycard credit builder)

in Credit cards
I have my first credit card: Barclaycard. (It's the credit builder, but the card itself looks just like my husbands Barclaycard). I have a stupid limit of £200 and I read that to make some progress I have to spend something on it and paying it so in a few months I'll have a history.
But my card DOESN'T WORK!!! I tried it a few times once in Iceland the SA had to try 3 times it kept giving an error and in the end it worked. Last week I tried paying with it in Sainsbury's and the same story. In the end the put me to sign a receipt and said ok. Now I tried it in another shop and the same, they tried 3 times and keep geting payment denied. As it was forming a queue I felt really emarassed.
Is this normal ? (just to have an ideea if it happen to others before calling them to ask what's the problemon their expensive number, when I called to activate the card I stayed on line and payed about £5 on the phone call)

It could even be something simple such as unlocking the PIN at an ATM.0

I have no ideea what "unlocking the pin" means... When I received the card it had a pin, and I changed it ... could it be because of this? (I would change it back to the initial one but I don't know what it was...)0 -
I'd try calling, sounds like it's probably something they could fix either over the phone, or send you a new card out.
Not sure if it's a different number for the Credit Builder one, but a local rate number for Barclaycard is 01604 230230, and a freephone one is 0800 400100 (wait for the operator and ask for BCard)Aiming for that elusive 'debt free' by Christmas 2012
:rudolf: [STRIKE]£6,000[/STRIKE] £4,279 and counting... #217 paid off £1721 :rudolf:

Is the Barclaycard Creditbuilder the same thing as the Barclays Initial?0

With some new cards (and renewals) the pin is locked until unlocked at an ATM as part of the security measures.I have no ideea what "unlocking the pin" means... When I received the card it had a pin, and I changed it ... could it be because of this? Your pin will also be locked if used incorrectly 3 times.0 -
Isn't this a question the OP should be asking Barclaycard rather than us?0

I just got one of these cards in the past couple of weeks - no issues using it in a load of shops, no need to "unlock" the PIN at the ATM. OP would be best off calling Barclaycard.0

ShelfStacker, I thought you posted you have a Barclaycard Initial?0

Yes, but probably OP will get more sense on here. :beer:moneysavingallday wrote: »Isn't this a question the OP should be asking Barclaycard rather than us?0
