HD tv is a scam only good for playback devices such as, PS3, HD camera's & PC's.
It will cost alot more money a month for HD sky & you will not see much benefit0 -
Sorry i meant HD is only good for...playbcks etc x0

A normal Sky digibox doesn't do HD even though it lists the channels. You can buy a Freesat HD box and connect it to the TV but you'll either need to use the connection (or one of the connections if Sky+) from the Sky box to the the dish or get an extra cable run from the LNB on the dish to the Freesat box. If there's no spare connectors on the LNB on the dish (Sky+ LNB has 4 outputs but only 2 are connected when you have a standard Sky+ install leaving 2 spare) , you'll need a new LNB as well.
The costs in the first year for Sky HD box plus subscription are like for like with buying a Freesat HD box with recording capability. Sky has far more HD channels than Freesat.0 -
Oh and investigate how good your HD tv actually is before purchasing any HD playback device full HD...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1080p and check your tv's capability via its handbook etc0
