Shares (sorry if this is the wrong place to post)

Options
Hi everyone

I'm thinking of buying my best friend some shares for her 30th Birthday but am unsure where to start. I've found a few online for Cadburys and Tiffany & Co but am unsure whether they are legit.

I want to spend between £30 and £50 and if possible for a "girlie" company - any help would be appreciate as to where I go next.

Thanks

A typical online broker will charge a dealing cost of around £12 for a share purchase. This makes the purchase of a small amount of shares rather unattractive, I'm afraid.

You could try a single framed share.

While the cost of purchase is significantly more than the real value, it looks nice!

Google came up with http://www.framedshare.co.uk/ amongst others.

    Tiffanys? Playboy? Others too!

I recommend you follow opinions4u's suggestion. Buying a single share from the markets as a gift is going to be very time consuming and difficult for you if you've never dealt in shares before - not only will you have to go through the purchase process, you'll need to get a certificate issued and a name transfer completed.
    Mmmm, credit crunch. Tasty.
