I have just removed Norton from my pc and installed avast free version. when i try to connect to the internet thru firefox it take approx 5 mins for me to be able to use to site (i have bbc as home page). i get a message after a few minutes regarding running script on this page and do i want to continue. it also does this with explorerer. It never did this prev with Norton so I am assuming it is avast. Also when I finally get accsess to the web after a few minutes it will freeze everything for another period of time repeating the same message. Any ideas of what I need to do to remedy this situation.

Sorted. it was caused by sunbelt firewall which I had installed on the same day, will now look to find another good firewall.0
