I want to be happier about money

Hi there
Just read your thread and was wondering. What does your OH pay towards the bills. The £180 you mention? Is that it or is does he pay some of the bills in total and this is extra? Am glad to see his job's still safe though (your earlier post had a scare being sorted out in March)
I completely understand your desire/need to keep grips of all monies in and out of your world. I do that too. My DH thinks I'm bonkers mad though. He prefers the ostrich approach and I'm all out there, prodding hornets nests everywhere I go:rolleyes:Grocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)0 -
Hiya, yeah he gives me £400 per month towards food and bills. His job is safe at the moment but he had a bad couple of days last week so started on with the "i hate my job, i want to leave and quit" talk yet again (he does this every few weeks). He's fine now though. I keep trying to advise him not to do loan searches and apply for credit cards cos it affects his score etc but sometimes he doesn't listen and I feel like saying "I told you so" when he does get declined or when I'm right.0

The cat is off to the vets. I woke up yesterday morning to a pile of sick on the pouffe (spelling?). Lovely, not. This morning, I woke up to a pile of sick in front of the kitchen sink (did wonder what the smell was but didnt twig until I went to fill the kettle up n stood in it).
I gave her quarter pouch of food at 7am. All good, no sick. Got to just after 11am and I was ready to head up town so thought I'd give her the other quarter pouch. Gave it her fine. All good. I went up town, got back at 12.30 to find a lovely pile of sick in the lounge ... UGH.
Rang the vets and they said to take her in cos she's on tablets and if she's throwing up then she isn't getting the tablets properly. She's down to go for check up on 6 may so its only like bringing it forward. Thats how Im trying to look at it anyway. It's really getting to me, her being sick all the time, its like waiting to see where she's going to do it next. I left the bucket, cloth and disinfectant ready set up this morning to save me having to redo it everytime.
The payment for the car is all sorted anyway. Dad's leant me some so that's all fine now.
Was meant to be at a BBQ this afternoon but its postponed due to ill health <we're a bunch of crocks with dodgy joints>0 -

Turns out there is a bug going round as the vets have had "a lot" of cats in this week with vomiting. She's had anti-sick injection, anti-biotic injection. Her kidney blood was fine. Her thyroid was 60 where the normal is 55 so having to do 10mg one day, 15mg the next to see if that controls it a bit better
Good news is that the vet says she aint on her last legs yet and she's a very old lady (lol, lucy ages every time the vet sees her) and that she was lucky to find me as a new owner.
Total cost £65
30mins later ..... Anti-sickness injection does NOT work, just cleaned another pile of sick up!0 -
