Why don't you sit down with your OH and have a good look at everything, not just the finance side of things but the way it's affecting yu emotionally?

I can't help thinking that you should each pay proportionally? 25% sounds fairer to me therefore leaving you with some spare cash and not having to rely on OH so much?

You might feel better yourself then.

Hope you can sort something a bit fairer.

To relieve your anxiety, find a way of writng down your account using a consistant method each month.

Working out the state of your financial affairs using the the link already given on this thread would be a good start. Don't be scared.
I have created spreadsheets to account for our indivdual income and expenditure. I can identify areas where I can make cutbacks. It also allows me to plan for the months when we don't pay for council tax etc.

It is easy to check your credit on pay as you go phones. You could put credit on it each month which could be less than you are paying now.

I have done. I've made my own Monthly Planner for the year and have wrote down when all bills due out, which ones need renewing when, how much the bills are for etc. Everyone has their own way of budgeting, this is mine.

Why mention PAYG phones ? I'm on Contract, I know it could be less than I'm paying now but I'm tied in for 18 months so have to live with it and get on with life.

I think you're doing well on your budget cally. I lot of people would like to swap financial places with you and your OH.

I feel everyone should have some social life so a visit to the cinema or a lunch out now and again would be beneficial to you both. As you OH earns more than you, it should be his treat to you for taking such good care of him.

    Thanks Lilac !!

I do want to see the new Adam Sandler film, Bedtime Stories as OH loves Adam Sandler films but got told "I'm not watching that, its by Disney" Lol, I'll end up watching it one day. Last film I did go to see was Mamma Mia with 2 hms (hypermobility syndrome) fellow sufferers. We had a great time.

Speaking of lunch - I went to La Baguette bar at lunchtime as was called into work 2 hours early, didnt expect to get full lunch hour so decided to dash to shop. Anyway, I ordered sliced egg, lettuce and salad cream sandwich. The lass made the sandwich and asked the fella (boss I think) how much to charge for sandwich. He took a look at it (she'd put 2 eggs on, bit of lettuce already) and said "Stick another egg on it and charge her £1.50" Brilliant !!! They normally charge me £2 ... Lol. Very lovely sandwich it was, especially when I added sliced beetroot to it.

I chuckled when I saw your idea of eating out was a bag of chips. I feel soooooooo decadent having a cup of tea out, waste of money I think. You seem to have your head screwed on the right way, I hope you get a better paid job or more hours.
Try ebay for clothes & shoes, you can get loads of new stuff (especially at the moment) really cheap.

    Rant Time

GGRR at new changes happening VERY shortly at work ... no paid breaks, having to start work 15 mins early/leave later in order to make up the time, wages getting cut by 15mins if you don't take your break, don't work a bank hol mon ? the hours get took OFF your holiday entitlement, do work a bank hol mon ? you get paid for it at normal rate and those hours ADDED to your holiday entitlement, xmas/boxing day ... shop shut but you lose 2 days holiday pay

Not to mention the fact that if you have been employed before 2006 then the Union want to buy your breaks off you at a value of 3% (of what we dont know), thus making you the same as the staff who started after 2006 and getting unpaid breaks

    And breathe ....

It's ok if you've gone into working in a company who already have this system in place as then its just classed as the norm but for those of us who have to end up having rotas all changed completely around and wages cut by an hour a week over 52 weeks so end up losing just under £298, its a pain in the backside.

Plus I got told that I'm no longer the "overtime" girl as there are two other members of staff who are younger than me (and thus cheaper to pay) who will get asked to work extra first and then if they can't do it, I get the chance. Blooming annoying when one is only 16 and is at college (and doesn't have his staff number upgraded to deal with item returns, processing lottery wins etc) and t'other one already has a second job and is thinking of leaving anyway.

Woot - friend is paying for website via Google Checkout so money goes straight into my bank and less fees to pay than if she had paid via Paypal.

Checked banking, nothing gone out that I didnt know about so thats good. Am determined to keep a closer eye on spending from account so trying to pay everything with cash instead on card all time. Fed up of waiting for banking to catch up 3 days later and then getting a shock when something aint budgeted for that appears.

Still need to get £58 in bank before 19th <eek> so raided Sealed Pot / £2 savers and found £24 in £2 coins <shocked> so coupled with a £10 in my purse am off to stick £37 in bank.

Played no-lose bingo on TAB last night and used £5 of the "bonus" money up and got that back in "cash" <yay> so decisions decisions, play the no-lose bingo again tonight and use the other £5 up thats in the bonus pot and then withdraw the £20 out or withdraw the £15 out now and just play with the £5 tonight - Help please lol

Checked credit card amount, down to £402 now so not too bad. Keep leaving the card at home and not spending on it. Fingers crossed it lasts.

Checked lightspeed, nothing happening there yet.

Checked Moneybackmadness, going to go and post on forums there and make myself known <laugh> and earn lots of points. Earned 7p pending y/day so going to do a few more of the clicks and earn some more money.

Have emailed to check if friend got invoice correctly that I sent her so she can pay me. I hate asking for money.

Have been working through my website databases and lists and getting everything into a better order. Just the big one to start next, the members on the main site and adverts, only 450+ to check <rolls eyes>

Just a little celebration this weekend.

I got paid yesterday and have worked out bills for this next coming month. I will still be in my overdraft but nowhere near the edge so shouldnt have the worry of Reserve fees in February.

I haven't had to pay any Reserve fees in January either.

    YAY !!
