Electoral Role

Here is my dilemma.

I recently moved house and the past occupiers 'were' registered at MY address. I think they had bad credit thus stopping me from getting a card.

Today the electoral role is updated accross the country, and I am to be added to my address and the past occupiers removed.

I want to apply for a barclay card to buy a digi camera as to cover the price drop after xmas but I am afriad I will be turned down as the records of the electoral roal may have not been updated...

Any ideas?

  • Thom,

There have been recent changes to credit reports which mean that nobody else should show up on your report unless you have a financial link with them (e.g. mortgage, joint account).

You could always obtain a statutory copy of your credit report - £2 from Experian's website. There are 3 credit reference agencies; the others being Equifax and CallCredit.

    any ideas when this changed?

I was granted an EGG card with conditions being only a 1800 limit.

It has been 3 months since trying for more cards?
  • Sure,

The changes came in on 1 November. See here for more information (under section Credit information privacy)
