Microphone for VoIP

I'm getting into the jist of VoIP now but during a conversation realised the reason I couldn't be heard - no mic!

I need to find a cheap but decent mic (already have headphones so don't want to splash out on a headset).

Any ideas for places to go to buy a cheap but good quality mic??

I find the headset I bought from Poundland does the job nicely.
Using a mic & speakers can be quite disconcerting as you can hear your end of the conversation coming back a second or two later.

Poundland eh? How long have you had it and what is it like, i.e. one/two speakers for one/both ears?

I just can't believe that it's possible to manufacture a headset and sell it for just £1 and make a profit! I'm being oversuspicious again, sorry

They are well known brands and aren't a £1 one that will probably break with continuous use!

Just to let you know, I bought the headset from Poundland, (for £1, obviously) and am very impressed with it - it's a good quality build and has two speakers for each year. Microphone is good quality too.

It's a good deal if they are available in your local stores. I asked the Manager of my local Poundland if she could possibly order some, and they got a box of 60 in the next day. I suggest you do the same if they aren't available and you want one.
