Our rented house been reprossessed - help and advice needed

We are currently renting a property and today i came hope to find court proceeding papers for reprossession. The court date is set for the 15th December. I have contacted the solicitors concerned who have told me they are seeking a 28 day notice order (not sure if I have said that right but basically they will be asking the court to reprossess the house in 28 days)Now I have no idea what my rights are as a tenant but im guessing none. Do I continue to pay rent (rent next due 5th Dec)? Do I look for somewhere else to live? Do i have to give notice if I find somewhere else to live? How do I give notice ie does it have to be on rent day or can it be anytime? Will get my deposit back (its is in a protected thing)?I am on a rolling tenancy as have been here for over 6 months. I will get in touch is CAB on monday but I would use some help over the weekendThanks

When does your AST end? Providing your LL had permission to let, your AST should be honoured and relevant notice given at the appropriate times.
If not you could be homeless by Christmas. You may be able to appeal to the judge's better nature. Fingers crossed for you.
BTW, it's 'repossession' (easy mistake). Go to your post and click 'Edit'. Then, click on 'Go advanced' and you will be able to correct your title. (I'll delete this paragraph once you have made the change).

No, if the court hearing is 15 December, the earliest should be 5 March 09 (two months' notice starting on a rent day).

Sorry to hear of your situation. Can I suggest you consult Shelter (as well as / instead of CAB) ASAP? Housing is their expertise and they seem to deal with enquiries much sooner than CAB, and can give more specialised advice.
Good luck x0 -
