What checks do banks make when opening current account?

Options
I notice that when I opened my current accounts the banks have only done an Unrecorded Enquiry which is a credit search that other lenders do not see.

Is this how all banks check you when you apply for a current account?

If so, that's really good as it means you can apply for as many current accounts as you want and it won't look like you've been desperately searching for accounts since other lenders will be none the wiser.....
